SYNOPSIS

High school senior Chloe Green is one step away from beating her only rival for valedictorianโ€”the prom queen, town it-girl, Ms. perfect, Shara Wheelerโ€”when Shara abruptly kisses her & disappears.

Leaving a trail of pink letters AND two other students sheโ€™d kissedโ€”Rory, the bad boy next door & Smith, Sharaโ€™s sweet quarterback boyfriendโ€”the unlikely trio is forced to work together to decipher the clues Shara left in order to bring her back before graduation.

Hence begins the unexpected journey of friendship, self-discovery, family & love, as Chloe realizes there may be more to her town, the people in her life & especially, Shara Wheeler.

REVIEW

THIS BOOK!!! OH MY GOD!!!

It initially seemed like a reimagined version of John Greenโ€™s Paper Townsโ€”the beloved it-girl of the entire town, disappearing mysteriously into the night, leaving behind her a trail of clues for the boy next door, who rounds up all his friends & sets off to find her.

BUT while the two books certainly share a similar storyline, THIS book was so much more! AND this does not come lightly from me because Paper Towns was one of my favorite books!

I loved that in such a critical period of lifeโ€”this chaotic, frightening, exhilarating phase of youthโ€”these characters were blessed to find friendship & love in one another. Even under such a conservative environment & religious culture of their small-town Alabama Catholic school, their courage & strength became the catalyst for change, empowering one another in embracing new possibilities.

Overall finely-paced, with multi-layered characterization, thorough development, laugh-out-loud hilarious moments & a tender approach to otherwise sensitive topics. Immensely enjoyed โ™ก
