SYNOPSIS

High school senior Chloe Green is one step away from beating her only rival for valedictorian—the prom queen, town it-girl, Ms. perfect, Shara Wheeler—when Shara abruptly kisses her & disappears.

Leaving a trail of pink letters AND two other students she’d kissed—Rory, the bad boy next door & Smith, Shara’s sweet quarterback boyfriend—the unlikely trio is forced to work together to decipher the clues Shara left in order to bring her back before graduation.

Hence begins the unexpected journey of friendship, self-discovery, family & love, as Chloe realizes there may be more to her town, the people in her life & especially, Shara Wheeler.

REVIEW

THIS BOOK!!! OH MY GOD!!!

It initially seemed like a reimagined version of John Green’s Paper Towns—the beloved it-girl of the entire town, disappearing mysteriously into the night, leaving behind her a trail of clues for the boy next door, who rounds up all his friends & sets off to find her.

BUT while the two books certainly share a similar storyline, THIS book was so much more! AND this does not come lightly from me because Paper Towns was one of my favorite books!

I loved that in such a critical period of life—this chaotic, frightening, exhilarating phase of youth—these characters were blessed to find friendship & love in one another. Even under such a conservative environment & religious culture of their small-town Alabama Catholic school, their courage & strength became the catalyst for change, empowering one another in embracing new possibilities.

Overall finely-paced, with multi-layered characterization, thorough development, laugh-out-loud hilarious moments & a tender approach to otherwise sensitive topics. Immensely enjoyed ♡
